League Rules

  1. Please tell your manager or me if you can’t make a game so that we can fill your spot if needed.
  2. If everyone shows, then each team will have 1 sub. Please schedule as a team how you will do subs so no one gets stuck on the sidelines.
  3. Games are 90 minutes with a 5-minute halftime. Please arrive with enough time to help set up the goals and to get warmed up so that we can start on time. Games will be shorter if we start late.
  4. We are going to self-ref, so please keep the honor system active and follow the guidelines we always play by, even in the heat of a final. ALL rules we typically play by are in use here and I don’t want any competitive edges to cause any dangerous play or bad attitudes. As always, any intentional dangerous play has a zero-tolerance policy and you will be immediately removed from the game. If there are any disagreements on the field that cannot be resolved, I will make any final decision as it follows our guidelines and rules, so please get me if I am not on the field already.
  5. Scoring
    • Ties are acceptable for the first 3 weeks, and for the finals night, any game resulting in a tie will go to penalties. 5 penalties will be taken by each team and will continue if needed until there is a winner.
    • Standings can (after the first game) be found at https://inland.soccer/season/1/. A win gets you 3 points, and a tie gets you 1. After 3 weeks of games, if we have any ties for total points, then we first go to the head-to-head result, and if that was a tie, then we go to goal difference, etc.
    • On the 4th week, the two teams in 1st and 2nd will play each other for 1st and 2nd place. And the two bottom teams will play each other for 3rd place.
  6. Awards
    • The Golden Boot is awarded to the player with the most goals. This can result in a tie.
    • The Playmaker award goes to the player with the most assists. This can also result in a tie.
    • The Golden Glove is awarded to the goalie (or goalie combo in the case of the free agent team) with the most clean sheets. If there are no clean sheets, then it will go to the goalie with the least amount of goals conceded. This can also result in a tie.
